3RD ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION
VIS took pride in solemnizing the 3rd Annual Day on 16/02/2013 with the presence of the Chief Guest, Former Minister Mr. Pichandi, and Renowned Business Man Mr. Jamaluddin and with the Chairman, Administrator and Principal of the School. The Celebration was parted for the juniors (KG - III) in the morning session and for the seniors (IV - VIII) in the afternoon session. All the buds blossomed on the core and spread their fragrance in the minds of the Audience. Parents felt happy by seeing their child’s performance and Prizes were distributed to the children for both Scholastic and Co-Scholastic Events.OVIYA’13 – ART COMPETITION
OVIYA’13 - An art competition takes place every year in the Holy Town, Thiruvannamalai by Arunai Engineering College. It was held on 14/02/2013 and the pride thing is that Vigneshians also participated in it and won prizes. The prizes were awarded to Master R. Sanjeev of Grade VI ,who has won I prize in Cartooning and Master A.Churchill of Grade VIII ,who has won II prize in Pencil Sketch by the Chairman on the 3rd Annual Day Celebration of VIS.EXCURSION – GRADE VII & VIII
A three days trip to Thiruvananthapuram & Cochin for the children was escorted by the Administrator and the staff on 30/01/2013. They began their trip at 04:30 in the early morning and the children were seen dancing and merry making in the bus. They reached Kanniyakumari to cherish the Rich Sunset and they excited to play in the beach. The next morning was passed with a little play in Kovalam Beach and then the children were taken to Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre to witness Rocket Launch. Children were learned about the satellites and rockets sent by India and were given freedom to ask their queries in the Space Museum. The third morning was amused by the children in boating and seeing the Dutch Palace. The most joyous thing for the children was the time spent in Veegaland, a whole day entertainment and the day ended with happiest moments. The Excursion ended with this happiness and the next day, they reached the school at 9 a.m. in the morning. REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
The 64th Republic Day Celebration began in VIS with the flag hoisting by the Administrator and Principal in its school premises. The Cultural programmes dedicated to the National Leaders were rejoiced by the Parents as a whole in the auditorium. Everyone was in a patriotic mood and shared their happiness to each other by giving sweets and ecxhanging their greetings.INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH OLYMPIAD (IEO)
Vigneshians from Grade III to IV took part in International English Olympiad, an external competitive exam conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation in association with British Council (SOF) on 24/01/2013. The Students participated actively in the Exam with full confidence as they were trained by their English Mentors. They came out from the Exam Hall with flying colours as a token of their victory.ANNUAL SPORTS MEET
Vigneshians participated spiritually in the III Annual Sports Meet on 19/01/2013 which was declared by the Chairman of the School. Events like Relays, Long Jump and Extra Curricular Activities like Yoga, Karate were beautifully performed by the children. The Winners were awarded with Medals by the Chairman, Administrator and the Principal and with great applause from the audience. SCOUTS & GUIDES
A one – day long training camp for scouts and guides was organised in VIS on 15/01/2013 and it was commenced with the well – wishes of the School Chairman followed by a spirit – provoking speech by the Administrator. The Principal played an exemplary role in the event. The trainers Mrs. G.G.Beula Karolin and Mrs. Alice Peters trained the children for various activities and the camp had interesting and eventful activities throughout the day. It was a fruitful camp for all the participants.PONGAL CELEBRATION
VIGNESH SAMATHUVA PONGAL was celebrated with much joy on 12/01/2013 with the Chairman, Administrator and the Principal in a colourful manner. A Rangoli Competition was held for girls of Grade VI to VIII. “Vignesh Sweet Pongal” was prepared deliciously and worshipped the nature God. Then they had cultural celebration in a very grand core to know the traditional way of celebrating pongal festival. VIGNESH MARATHON – 2013
VIS organized for an Inter House Marathon Race on 08/01/2013 to test the sportsmanship of Vigneshians for Classes VII & VIII. It was started with a flag-off from the campus and the determined young runners took pride to cover the check points along the Manalurpet Road that passes near the school. The success of the event was the spirit of co-operation and participation shown by the young athletes and teachers who motivated them throughout the event. 12TH NATIONAL CYBER OLYMPIAD - 2012
The Vigneshians of Grade III to VIII took part in National Cyber Olympiad, an External Competitive Exam on 21/09/2012. The results were proclaimed and Medals and Certificates were awarded to the winners by the Administrator and Principal of the School on 02/01/2013 in the morning assembly.MAGNIFICIENT MATHS QUIZ
VIS had organized for a magnificent Maths Quiz on 31/12/2012 in its school premises to commemorate the National Mathematical year 2012. Children from schools, TVS Academy and Maharishi Vidhya Mandir had also participated along with the Vigneshians. The participants of these schools were mixed up together into six teams that were named after great Mathematicians of India in order to generate a feeling of co-operation and togetherness in them, which was a highly positive outcome at the end. Medals and prizes were given away to the winners by the Administrator and Principal of VIS.
INTER CLASS TUCK SHOP 2012
The Vigneshians of Grade V to VIII held a tuck shop on 29/12/2012 to contribute for their welfare scheme. They had great potentials as to win the other in putting up various attractive stalls. The Shop was inaugurated by the Chairman of the School escorted by the Administrator and Principal in the auditorium at 2:30 p.m. and the students were eager and enthusiastic in introducing and selling their products. There was a festive atmosphere which made everyone to be in seventh heaven and the programme came to an end at 3:30 p.m. in ecstasies.INTER HOUSE DANCE COMPETITION –GRADE I TO IV
The children of Grade I to IV in VIS had an opportunity to exhibit their dancing talents when they had an inter house dance competition both for individual and group performance on 29/12/2012. Judges were invited and the day was extremely impressive and it was gladdened by the Chairman of the School, Administrator, Principal and the staff and students. VIS organized a heavenly Christmas Celebration on 21/12/2012. The core on that day was garnished with colorful balloons and twinkling stars. The Administrator, Principal, Staff and the Students amused the program with the Chairman of the School, the Chief Guest of the day. Inter House Solo & Group Dance Competition was held at VIS on 19/12/12 in the auditorium with a wonderful core to perform. The Chairman of the School, Administrator, Principal and all the teachers with their wonderful children enjoyed the exuberant program. A Centre for Academic Excellence, Dr. JK GLOBAL ACADEMY conducted State Level Talent Exam on 10/08/12 for various schools. Vigneshian children from KG to VIII had participated in it and they were awarded certificates & Medals from the Director of the school on 18/12/12 in its school premises. WORLD PEACE DAY
VIS had its memorable moment at 12:12:12:12 on 12/12/12. All the Vigneshians were gathered in the Auditorium to take pledge for World Peace. A descriptive formula “Love + Justice/Compromise + Respect = Peace” was explained to the children. Prayers were chanted in different languages and children learned the basic of bringing peace by “Peace Begins with Me".INTER HOUSE KABADI TOURNAMENT – GRADE V TO VIII
VIS had a bloodthirsty Kabadi Tournament on 08/12/12. The Vigneshians of Grade V to VIII were very spirited to participate in that Tournament and played aggressively for their Houses. The Tournament with heavy competitions was won by Einstein House.KG SOLO SINGING COMPETITION

The Children of Grade III to VIII had a fortune to prove their inherent scientific excellence in the 15th National Science Olympiad which was held on 22/11/12 in their school premises.INTER HOUSE CAROM TOURNAMENT
VIS had a competitive carom tournament for the children of Grade I to IV on 17/11/12. All the four houses with much knowledge and trick played well and at last the tournament was won by Faraday House.INTER HOUSE THROW BALL TOURNAMENT
The students of Grade V to VIII had a competitive throw ball tournament on 17/11/2012 for both boys & girls. The First match was between Edison & Einstein. The Second match was between Newton & Faraday. The Final match for boys was held between Edison & Newton and Newton won the tournament. The Final match for girls was held between Einstein & Faraday and Einstein won the tournament. The tournament ended with much applause from all the houses.CHILDRENS DAY CELEBRATION
VIS had its memorable day on 10/11/2012. The loveable teachers delighted the children with their variety entertainment and made laughter in their eyes. A programme of Scouts and Guides for Vigneshians of classes VI to VIII was inaugurated by Mr. T.Soundarajan (Best Teacher Awardee), Mr. Srinivasavarathan (District Training Commission-Scout) and Mrs. Beulakarolin(District Training Commission-Guide)on 07/11/12. VIS organized for a programme on the importance of saving money which was solicited by the TMB Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank on 07/11/12. The Assistant Manager Shri. The Vigneshians of Grade VI to VIII got an opportunity to explore how the other learning buddies presented the exciting concepts in science. They were on a trip to TVS Academy, Tiruvannamalai where an exhibition on science ‘The Science Expo’ was organized on 05/11/12. VIS was eagerly awaiting for the Cricket Tournament to start on 06/10/12. The first match was between Faraday & Edison. Faraday won the toss and chose to bowl. The match was won by Faraday House. The second match was between Newton & Einstein. Newton won the toss and chose to bowl. The match was won by Newton. The 66th Independence Day celebration began with the hoisting of the tricolor flag by the honorable Chairman of the School in its premises. The four houses did march past which was followed by the cultural programme in a very grand and cheerful manner. Parents were wholeheartedly invited for the First PTM in VIS on 28/07/12. The Principal of the school explained about the assessment of the children. (Formative and summative). Then the Administrator threw light on the functioning of the school website. The Guest of the day was Mr & Mrs Inbanesan, Dental specialist shared and suggested so many useful things regarding the teeth maintenance of the children. The children of Grade III to VIII of VIS had their fancy dress competition on 30/06/2012. The dais was decorated with cheerful moments by the participants. Judges from Vignesh Polytechnic College selected the prize winners from each grade. The Administrator and Principal of the School felicitated the winners with hearty wishes. 5/7/12 was a memorable day for all Vigneshians. The school has its maiden investiture ceremony. The elected members of the mock election took the Oath & assumed the office of VIS SANSAD. The function was presided by the Chairman Mr.Kuppuswamy. FANCY DRESS COMPETITION- LKG TO GRADE II
The Fancy Dress Competition was organized in our school on 21st June 2012. The participants were from the KG Section & Gr. I and II. All the contestants came to school beautifully dressed. They were garnished as Trees, Freedom Fighters, Police Officers, Divine Beings etc. We were very excited on seeing these characters. We invited the teaching staff from the Polytechnic and the Teacher Training Colleges as Judges. We bedecked our VIS in a colorful and charming manner.MOCK ELECTION-RESULTS
